Empire Field is a temporary stadium built in 2010 for the Vancouver Whitecaps of Major League Soccer (MLS) and the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL); it was demolished and converted to a community playing field when the two teams moved to the newly-renovated BC Place Stadium in late 2011. It is located on the same site as the former Empire Stadium, Vancouver's primary outdoor stadium until 1983.
