Vancouver International Airport is Canada's only major airport on the West Coast and the country's air gateway to the Asia-Pacific Rim. It is the second busiest airport in Canada after Toronto's Pearson International Airport, and is currently ranked as Canada's top airport and North America's best airport. During Operation Yellow Ribbon on September 11, 2001, it handled the most US-bound passengers out of all the Canadian airports that day.
