Victoria Harbour divides Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, and is home to the historical, cultural and economic hub of the Hong Kong territory since the days of British colonization. Virtually all major developments in Hong Kong's history have occurred at or around here. In 1997, the British authorities handed over the territory to China; the British departed on an official yacht from Victoria Harbour.
