The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum was built in 1921 and is the current home of the Pac-12's University of Southern California Trojans football team (and the largest stadium in the Pac-12) and the only stadium to host two different Summer Olympic Games (once in 1932 and again in 1984). It also hosted Super Bowls and World Series. In addition to hosting the Trojans, it has also been the home arena of the UCLA Bruins, Los Angeles Dons, Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Wolves, Los Angeles Aztecs, Los Angeles Raiders, Los Angeles Express, Los Angeles Xtreme and Los Angeles Dragons.

Rogers Arena is home to the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL, and was known as Canada Hockey Place during the 2010 Winter Olympics, in which it hosted many of the games including the gold medal game. It is also the former home of the NBA's Vancouver Grizzlies and the NLL's Vancouver Ravens.

Robson Square is a public square that is home to the British Columbia provincial law courts, a campus of the University of British Columbia and government office buildings. The site was originally planned to be the site of the city's tallest skyscraper but the plan was scrapped in favor of the present-day square. In winter, it is home to the only public outdoor skating rink in Vancouver. During the 2010 Winter Olympics, it was the center of nightly celebrations and events, such as the Olympic zipline ride.

The Georgia Dome is home to the National Football League's Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia State Panthers football team of NCAA. Part of the Georgia World Congress Center, it was the largest domed building in the world until it was overtaken in 1999 by the Millennium Dome in London, United Kingdom; however, it remains the largest indoor sports facility in the United States. During the 1996 Summer Olympics, it was home to basketball, artistic gymnastics and team handball events.

Centennial Olympic Park is a park built as a gathering place for the 1996 Summer Olympics. As a tribute to hosting the 100th Olympic summer games, a statue of the father of the modern Olympic movement, Pierre de Coubertin (pictured), was erected at the park. During the Olympics, it was also a medal presentation location in addition to regular exhibits and entertainment. It was also the site of the Centennial Olympic Park bombing during the games. After the Olympics, it was host to a weekly concert series and annual Fourth of July celebrations.

The Whistler Olympic Plaza, formerly known as the Whistler Celebration Park or the Whistler Medals Plaza, was the location of the nightly medals ceremonies and public broadcast viewing area during the 2010 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. After the Games, it was converted to an outdoor events venue and inclusive/accessible playground for children.

Whistler is a resort town that receives over 2 million visitors annually, and is primarily known as the host of the alpine, nordic, luge, skeleton and bobsled events during the 2010 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. The Whistler Blackcomb ski resort has consistently rated the best or among the best in North America. Home to the world's highest and longest unsupported cable car span in the world, Whistler Blackcomb is also the largest ski resort in North America.

The Vancouver Olympic Village was the athletes' village during the 2010 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. It is located adjacent to Science World. It is currently in the process of being transformed into social and general housing.

BC Place is a large stadium in downtown Vancouver, next to Rogers Arena. It was built for the 1986 World's Fair opening and closing ceremonies. It was also home to the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics, making them the first ceremonies to be held indoors as BC Place was an indoor domed stadium at the time; currently, the domed roof is being replaced by a new retractable one. Prior to the roof's demolition, it was the world's largest air-supported domed roof. After the new roof's installation, it will be home to the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League and Vancouver Whitecaps, a team that will join MLS in 2011.

Science World at Telus World of Science, better known as Science World, is a science museum first built for the 1986 World's Fair, when it was known as Expo Centre. It is also currently home to a giant OMNIMAX and 3D IMAX theater. During the 2010 Winter Olympics, it was known as the Russky Dom (or Sochi.ru World), the pavilion for promoting the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

The Vancouver Convention Centre complex includes Canada Place and the new West Building (pictured), making it one of the largest convention centers in Canada. The West Building became the International Broadcast Centre during the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Canada Place is home to part of Vancouver Convention Centre and was built for the 1986 Expo World's Fair. It was the location of the world's first permanent IMAX theater, which has since closed down. Today, it serves as a major cruise ship terminal for journeys to Seattle and Alaska. During the 2010 Winter Olympics, Canada Place played a role as the Main Press Centre.

The 2010 Winter Olympics had two cauldrons, one inside BC Place where the opening ceremonies were held and one outdoors next to the Vancouver Convention Centre (pictured), which was lit by Wayne Gretzky. Olympic regulations require that cauldrons must be publicly viewable, hence the existence of this cauldron, as BC Place was an indoor domed stadium at the time.

The Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre is better known as UBC Thunderbird Arena. It is on the campus of the University of British Columbia and is home to its male and female hockey teams, the Thunderbirds. It is also known for hosting ice hockey events in the 2010 Winter Olympics and sledge ice hockey events in the 2010 Winter Paralympics.
