The statue of Wayne Gretzky, known as the greatest hockey player of all-time, outside Staples Center was erected on the same night that his jersey was raised to the rafters in the arena. It is 125% the actual size of Gretzky, who played for the Los Angeles Kings during their days at the Great Western Forum from 1988 to 1996. The statue is among several outside the arena; the others are of Magic Johnson, Oscar De La Hoya, Chick Hearn and Jerry West.

Staples Center is the home arena of the Los Angeles Kings and is also home to the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers, the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks and the Pacific-12 Conference Men's Basketball Tournament. It is also the former home of the AFL's Los Angeles Avengers and D-League's Los Angeles Defenders. Currently it is one of the busiest arenas in the country and became part of the surrounding LA Live entertainment complex in 2007.

The California Science Center is the largest science museum on the West Coast of the United States. It is affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution of Washington, DC and will be host to the Space Shuttle Endeavour once it has been decommissioned and retired.

The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum was built in 1921 and is the current home of the Pac-12's University of Southern California Trojans football team (and the largest stadium in the Pac-12) and the only stadium to host two different Summer Olympic Games (once in 1932 and again in 1984). It also hosted Super Bowls and World Series. In addition to hosting the Trojans, it has also been the home arena of the UCLA Bruins, Los Angeles Dons, Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Wolves, Los Angeles Aztecs, Los Angeles Raiders, Los Angeles Express, Los Angeles Xtreme and Los Angeles Dragons.

Disneyland Park in Anaheim is the first theme park opened by the Walt Disney Company and the only one built under the direction of Walt Disney. Originally planned to be located in Burbank, the current Anaheim site was chosen due to land size issues. Construction of the park took only a year and cost $17 million. Currently it records the highest total attendance of any amusement park in the world.

Walter Pyramid is a 5,000-seat stadium located on the campus of California State University Long Beach and serves as the home court of the university's NCAA basketball teams. It is considered a true pyramid, with each of its four sides measuring 345 feet (105 meters), and is one of only three buildings of its kind in the United States (along with Luxor Las Vegas in Las Vegas and Pyramid Arena in Memphis). It opened in 1994 and its first event was televised nationwide on ESPN.

THE RINKS Anaheim Ice, originally known as Disney Ice, is the official practice facility of the Anaheim Ducks. The building was designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry, who also designed the Experience Music Project and Walt Disney Concert Hall. Anaheim Ice also serves as the home ice of the University of Southern California's hockey team.

The Orange County Fair and Event Center is the home of the annual Orange County Fair, which started in 1890. The event is the 9th largest in the United States and has made Costa Mesa its home since 1949. In 2009, the fairgrounds were to be put on the market but the sale was stopped.

California State University Long Beach is the 2nd largest of the California State University system (and largest in the system by enrollment) and 3rd largest university in California by enrollment. The university's original name, Los Angeles-Orange County State College, reflects its proximity to Orange County as it is located less than a mile from the county's southeastern border. In 1965, it hosted the first International Sculpture Symposium event in the United States and first at a college campus.

The HP Pavilion at San Jose is the home arena of the San Jose Sharks. Its former names include San Jose Arena and Compaq Center at San Jose; its nickname is the Shark Tank. Its construction was delayed, forcing the Sharks to play at the Cow Palace for a few seasons, until the new arena opened in 1993. In 2011, the arena will also be home to the San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League. It also hosted the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association while their new arena was being reconstructed.
