Tivoli Gardens opened in 1843 and is the second oldest amusement park in the world. With 4.5 million visitors annually, it is the most popular seasonal theme park in the world, the most visited theme park in Scandinavia and fourth most visited theme park in Europe. It was built to distract the population from political situations at the time; the monarch approved the development of 61,000 square meters (15 acres) of land for this purpose. The theme park served as the inspiration for Disneyland Park in Anaheim. The park is home to Rutsjebanen, one of the oldest wooden roller coasters in the world still in operation, as well as Himmelskibet, the world's largest carousel. While not part of the complex's theme park facilities, Europe's longest saltwater aquarium is located here, in the Tivoli Concert Hall.

Disneyland Park in Anaheim is the first theme park opened by the Walt Disney Company and the only one built under the direction of Walt Disney. Originally planned to be located in Burbank, the current Anaheim site was chosen due to land size issues. Construction of the park took only a year and cost $17 million. Currently it records the highest total attendance of any amusement park in the world.

The Orange County Fair and Event Center is the home of the annual Orange County Fair, which started in 1890. The event is the 9th largest in the United States and has made Costa Mesa its home since 1949. In 2009, the fairgrounds were to be put on the market but the sale was stopped.

Caribbean Bay is the world's largest water park and part of the Everland theme park. It contains the highest wave pool in South Korea, the world's longest streaming pool and the world's longest lazy river ride.

Everland is the largest theme park in South Korea and the tenth most-visited amusement park in the world. It includes a regular theme park, as well as a zoo and a water park called Caribbean Bay, which is also the largest water park in the world. Everland also has the world's steepest wooden roller coaster (angled at 77 degrees). The roller coaster is also the highest in Asia and third highest in the world.

Lotte World is the largest indoor amusement park in the world. It is visited by more than 8 million guests per year. It consists of a main indoor area and an outdoor addition on an artificial island with large vertical drop rides and roller coasters.

Ocean Park is the largest amusement park in Hong Kong and doubles as an amusement park and a research aquarium. It is home to one of Hong Kong's two sky rides, which connects one part of the theme park to its southern end on the other side of a mountain (which can also be conquered through shuttles). It is the 15th most-visited amusement park in the world, and the 33rd most-visited tourist attraction in the world.
