Anaheim Ducks towel invades: Seoul Station

Submitted by: BuckyHermit (from Vancouver, BC, Canada)

Country: South Korea
Province: Seoul Special City
District: Jung-gu and Yongsan-gu
Location: Seoul Station [map]
Status since photo:

Seoul Station is one of the two major ground transportation hubs servicing the entire country (the other being Yongsan Station) and is the oldest one of the two. It is home to the KTX bullet train service, which connects Seoul to the other end of the country within 3 hours. It opened in 1900, and the KTX station portion (seen in the photo) was added in 2004. Later this year, a new portion serving the airport line (towards Incheon International Airport) will be completed, creating a direct rail link between central Seoul and its international airport.

Location formerly known as:
  • Gyeongseong Station (1900-1905)
  • Namdaemun Station (1905-1915)
  • Keijo Station (1915-1945)
