Helsinki's Sibelius Monument was built in 1967 to honor Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. It features more than 600 hollow steel pipes welded together (totaling 24 tonnes) in a wave-like pattern, symbolizing the nature of his music. A smaller replica of the monument stands at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France as well as the United Nations headquarters in New York City, New York.
