The Seattle Center Monorail is a one-mile and two-station monorail system that connects Seattle Center to Westlake Center. It was built for the 1962 World's Fair and currently connects to the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel. Near the line's northern terminus, the trains pass through a specially-designed hole in the Experience Music Project building. The system was designated a historical landmark by the city in 2003.

The Pacific Science Center first started as the United States Science Pavilion during the 1962 World's Fair. It was designed by Minoru Yamasaki, who also designed the former World Trade Center towers in New York. It is home to one of the largest Laser Dome theaters in the world.

KeyArena is the former home of the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League and Seattle SuperSonics of the NBA; it is currently home to the Seattle Storm of the WNBA and Seattle Redhawks of NCAA basketball. It was built for the 1962 World's Fair and located near to another icon from the event, the Space Needle. It was heavily renovated between 1994 and 1995.

The Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame is part of the Seattle Center entertainment complex, adjacent to the Space Needle, and was opened in 2000. It was originally founded by Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, and is the site of the annual Science Fiction Fantasy Short Film Festival.

Seattle's Chinatown and International District is the center of the city's Asian community. It developed in the early 1900s and was partially destroyed in the 1960s during the construction of Interstate 5; it gained federal heritage status in 1987.

CenturyLink Field (pictured as Qwest Field) is home of the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League. It opened in 2002 and was built on the same site as the Seahawks' old stadium, the Kingdome, which was demolished in the largest implosion of a single concrete structure in the world. It is also the home field of the Seattle Sounders of Major League Soccer.

Safeco Field is the home of the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball and replaced the Kingdome as the primary baseball venue in the city when it opened in 1999. It is located directly south of Qwest Field, the other major stadium in Seattle.

Pike Place Market opened in 1907 and one of the oldest continually operating public markets in the United States; as a result, it is federally recognized as a heritage structure and area. It is home to the world's first Starbucks Coffee location and the Pike Place Fish Market.
