The Alamo Mission is the former Roman Catholic mission and fortress home to the Battle of the Alamo in 1836, and currently a museum. It is registered as a U.S. National Historic Landmark and in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, although it came close to being demolished in the 1900s.
