Doge's Palace is a Gothic palace in Venice that was home to the Doge of Venice, who was the formal position for the leadership of the Republic of Venice. Built between 1309 and 1424, it overlooks Piazza San Marco and also hosted the political functions of the Republic until Napoleon's invasion in 1797. Today, it is a museum.
