Berlin Hauptbahnhof, or the Berlin Central Station, is the main station of Germany's capital city, the largest two-level railroad station in Europe and the largest crossing station in Europe. It sits on the grounds of the former Lehrter Bahnhof, a historic railroad station that was heavily damaged during the Second World War and eventually demolished during the Cold War as an indirect result of West Berlin being surrounded by East Berlin; the current building opened in 2006.

Memento Park is an outdoor museum containing statues of communist icons and leaders from both Hungary and outside Hungary. After the fall of communism in the country, many statues were removed, forming the basis of the current museum to preserve, record and educate the public about the country's communist era, as well as serving as a host site for events and festivals.

Brandenburg Gate is a former city gate in Berlin completed in 1791; it once led to the city palace and was heavily damaged in the Second World War before being jointly restored by West Germany and East Germany. It remained a thoroughfare until the Berlin Wall went up, resulting in the gate ending up on the East Berlin side. At the end of the Cold War, President Ronald Reagan made his infamous plea to "tear down this wall" at the gate. During the fall of the Berlin Wall, celebrations were centered around the gate and made it a symbol of German reunification.
