The Macau Cathedral, also known in Portuguese as Catedral Igreja da Sé, is a cathedral in Macau's UNESCO heritage district. Established in the 1500s, the cathedral is home to the relics of Japanese martyrs who died during the persecution of Christians in the 1800s. It was once he center of the Macau diocese, which once consisted of Christians from China, Japan, Korea, and other outlying islands.
