Walter Pyramid is a 5,000-seat stadium located on the campus of California State University Long Beach and serves as the home court of the university's NCAA basketball teams. It is considered a true pyramid, with each of its four sides measuring 345 feet (105 meters), and is one of only three buildings of its kind in the United States (along with Luxor Las Vegas in Las Vegas and Pyramid Arena in Memphis). It opened in 1994 and its first event was televised nationwide on ESPN.

California State University Long Beach is the 2nd largest of the California State University system (and largest in the system by enrollment) and 3rd largest university in California by enrollment. The university's original name, Los Angeles-Orange County State College, reflects its proximity to Orange County as it is located less than a mile from the county's southeastern border. In 1965, it hosted the first International Sculpture Symposium event in the United States and first at a college campus.

The Hong Kong Museum of History houses the cultural and historical artifacts of the former British colony. It is located next to the Hong Kong Science Museum; it moved to its present location on Nathan Road in 1998.

Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station opened on July 1, 2010. It opened in conjunction with the Huning Intercity Line. It serves one third of rail traffic between Shanghai and Nanjing. The railway station is also linked to Shanghai's Hongqiao airport, which is the domestic airport for the city. In addition, Shanghai Hongqiao is going to be the terminus of the Beijing-Shanghai and Hunangzhou-Shanghai high speed lines, both of which are currently still under construction.

The People's Square is a large square adjacent to Nanjing Road in the Huangpu District of Shanghai. The People's Square is home to Shanghai's municipal government, museums, and other cultural landmarks. It was formerly a horse race track but with the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949, horse racing and gambling were prohibited, and the People's Square was established.

The Shanghai Metro is the urban rapid transit system for Shanghai, China's largest city. It opened in 1995. It was China's third city with a subway system, only after Beijing and Tianjin. The system now has 12 lines with 268 stations. It is currently the longest subway network in the world. It was expanded due to the 2010 World Expo. It is planned to have a total of 22 lines by 2020.

Officially known as the Pudong New Area or Pudong, is an area east of the Huangpu River. It is called Pudong because dong in Mandarin Chinese means east. Since 1990, Pudong has become the New Open and Economic Zone and emerged as the financial and commercial center of China. The Pudong skyline is home to several iconic buildings. These are the Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Building, and the Shanghai World Financial Center. In 2015, the Shanghai Tower will be added to the Pudong skyline.

Yonghe Temple is one of the largest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in the world. It was built in 1694 during the Qing Dynasty and was one of the official residence for court eunuchs. At one point, it was turned into an imperial palace before being partially reverted to a monastery. Yin Zhen, a Yongzheng Emperor, had his coffin placed here after his death; this led to the monastery being given imperial status. Since then, it was been the residence for many Buddhist monks from Mongolia and Tibet.

Gulou is Beijing's drum tower and was built during Kublai Khan's reign. It was originally built in 1272 and moved to the present location in 1420. It was originally an administrative tower but was later changed into a time-keeping tower as China adapted to the Western standards of time measurement. Zhonglou is the bell tower next to Gulou. Inside is a giant bell made during the Ming Dynasty. Before the modern-day Beijing sprouted up, these two towers dominated the city's skyline.

Beihai Park is an imperial park built in the 10th century and, at 69 hectares (170.5 acres), is the largest of all Chinese gardens. Before the end of the Qing Dynasty, it was connected to the Forbidden City but was opened to the public in 1925.
